Today I got an E-mail from an friend/co-worker in New York. I haven't heard from her in a year and literally the few words from her made my heart sing. I miss those guys so much and I think I had forgotten how much until today. I actually had a really great day today--little bits of goodness: heard from Liz, surprise soda-visit from Chaddy, lunch with my favorite peeps, discovery of theme song for 2009 (so much better than 2007/2008's theme song...), hugs from Zacky, approval for boss to pay for "sales experiment". All in all...Thursday was a good day. I love the little things that make all the difference.
P.S. Today would have been perfect if The Office and Grey's were new...what's up with re-runs already?

Be Ok
I dislike a lot of things but for the most part I really hate being a "Copy Cat" and I generally hate pop music. However, today please forgive me that I've totally stolen a post from a friend. I found this song on her blog and as I don't listen to the radio I've never heard it but well...let's just say it speaks to me. No more details are necessary but this is definitely my theme for 2009. Anyone think Scotty will be okay with this as an "Action Item"?
Be Ok
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to feel today, feel today, feel today
I just want to feel something today
I just want to feel today, feel today, feel today
I just want to feel something today
CHORUS: Open me up and you will see I'm a gallery of broken hearts
I'm beyond repair, let me be
And give me back my broken parts
I just want to know today, know today, know today
I just want to know something today
I just want to know today, know today, know today
Know that maybe I will be ok
CHORUS
Just give me back my pieces
Just give them back to me please
Just give me back my pieces
And let me hold my broken parts
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to feel today, feel today, feel today
I just want to feel something today
I just want to know today, know today, know today
Know that maybe I will be ok
Know that maybe I will be ok
Know that maybe I will be ok
Be Ok
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to feel today, feel today, feel today
I just want to feel something today
I just want to feel today, feel today, feel today
I just want to feel something today
CHORUS: Open me up and you will see I'm a gallery of broken hearts
I'm beyond repair, let me be
And give me back my broken parts
I just want to know today, know today, know today
I just want to know something today
I just want to know today, know today, know today
Know that maybe I will be ok
CHORUS
Just give me back my pieces
Just give them back to me please
Just give me back my pieces
And let me hold my broken parts
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to be ok, be ok, be ok
I just want to be ok today
I just want to feel today, feel today, feel today
I just want to feel something today
I just want to know today, know today, know today
Know that maybe I will be ok
Know that maybe I will be ok
Know that maybe I will be ok

Zack the Entertainer!
I think I figured out a way to be able to live in NYC in the way in which I'd like to be accustomed to...
Kidnap or borrow (which ever word you prefer) my nephew Zack and take him to Washington Square Park. He will be able to raise enough money for me to be able to live there for at least a year. If those *&^% kids can do random stunts and make tons of money then I'm sure brilliant, beautiful, perfect little Zacky can make even more.
Last week Becky, Paul, Zack and I met at Sub Zero for some ice cream. Zack was in true form that night and performed for the entire restaurant. Even after the other patrons went back to their business he stood there trying to entertain. He's all about the clapping and praise. He can jump! He's only 19 months old and he can jump--both feet off the floor. He knows he's good. When he's showing off all his signs, he holds up his hand after four or five so that you can give him a "high five". My favorites are when he does "Cat" because he says, "Kitty Kitty Kitty" in the cutest voice while making the sign. He also does that when he shows you his belly: "Tickle Tickle Tickle".
I love him. Love him. Love him.
P.S. Using Zack to make money was Anna's idea--I think she's definitely onto something brilliant. Beck...can I have him?
Heart Attack Special
I'm pleased to announce that KFC is now again offering their "Heart Attack Special". I never watch live TV but I was watching something tonight and was remiss in fast forwarding through the commercials and there it was...

My Town
On Saturday night my girlfriend and I saw a double feature. Both movies awesome. Both award winning and incredible. Both 'rip your guts out' emotionally intense. During the first movie we had a really bad experience with some incredibly immature girls. One group had a woman who cackled many many times throughout the movie--never at an appropriate place. The other group was a bunch of idiot teenage girls who giggled and laughed during the entire movie. Keep in mind that we were seeing Revolutionary Road and in NO place during the film is it appropriate to laugh, giggle or cackle. After the film I looked at Julia and said, "What were they even doing here?" She glared at them for the nth time and said, "I'm thinking they thought they were at Titanic 2--it's the only explanation!". She also mentioned that it was "Your Town" which she often does when we are in Orem and things like that happen. She also mentioned "Your Town" when we went outside after the film and saw this GIGANTIC truck with fire painted on the sides and wheels bigger than my house. Yes, Orem is "My Town" but at least I don't live in the land of 21 year old BYU idiots. I pointed out to Julia that those girls probably live in "Her Town" and go to her school.
Ahhhhh, Dreaming of John
Last week one of my colleagues showed me a picture of her roommate and "our" boyfriend John Krasinski. a.k.a. Jim from The Office. She ran into him at Sundance and said he was so nice and normal and all those things that we all love about him. They even looked like a couple in the picture so I kind of hate her. Well, Friday night I was in SLC with my friend Shane and after a yummy dinner at Dodo we tried to find a movie to see. We tried the Gateway theater but nothing was starting for a couple of hours and so we drove over to the Broadway and tried to see Slumdog. On the way over to the Broadway we were talking about the Sundance Film Festival and Shane was telling me about the celebs he had seen the previous weekend. I told him about Adrienne's roommate and then we talked about how John's movie was premiering the next night in SLC and wouldn't it be great to be able to go. Well, that night after a week of John John John I went home and had the most vivid dream. Everything that had happened that week including Adrienne's roommate meeting John, watching The Office, the conversation I had with Shane, etc. had happened and THEN I dreamed that I went to John's movie premiere, met him and made out with him. Even after I woke up it felt real. Dude...I'm so messed up.
P.S. We didn't end up seeing a movie and yes, Kacee, I was home before 9 p.m.
